Is it possible to drive an extraordinary rally and do good at the same time? That’s exactly what entrants in the Benefit and Education Rally for Africa 2013 did. Seikel UK was the main sponsor besides other renowned companies.
On 26 January 2013, a 2-week educational tour left Dakar (Senegal) and travelled 3,500 kilometres over dusty sand trails, through savannah and jungle, past cattle herds and rural villages to the destination in Accra in Ghana. The show-stopper was: cars donated by the drivers were auctioned at the local market – all the proceeds from the sale went to school projects in Ghana. “In Germany we live in total prosperity. Through our participation we want to support a good cause to help school education in Africa,” said Managing Director Peter Seikel who refers to himself as an “old off-roader”.
The rally organisers were “Opportunity in Action”, the events section of the non-profit making foundation “Opportunity International”. For more information, go to
